Nokia Lumia 800 Windows Phone 7.5 Mango smartphone

Posted on 05:25 by Unknown
Nokia today(26 October 2011) released the Lumia 800, its long-awaited flagship Windows Phone 7.5 'Mango', and the first since striking deal to develop handsets for Microsoft's mobile OS earlier this year.

It was announced at today's Nokia World 2011 conference in London - and managed to capture a hands-on walk through on video of the Nokia Lumia 800.

Nokia’s Lumia 800 has a similar look and design to the N9 joint Intel-Nokia MeeGo OS-based phone that was launched in June this year, with the same 3.7in curved AMOLED screen and single-core 1.4GHz Qualcomm chipset – which is a first for the Finnish phone company.

The Design
The Nokia Lumia 800 looks familiar because its design is based on the N9 Series. What makes this phone different is the sleek rectangular look and catchy bright colors. It sure will win the hearts of many who want aesthetics and looks in a phone. It has a slightly smaller display screen at 3.7 inches against the Nokia N9’s 3.9. The reason for the smaller screen is to accommodate the glassy Windows Phone buttons (Back, Home, and Search) which are smooth and easy to use.
The Specs
The Nokia Lumia 800 comes with a single core 1.4 GHz processor which puts it at a slight disadvantage when compared to its competition like iPhone and Nexus which both have dual core chips installed.  But surprisingly, the Windows Mango interface is well integrated with the hardware giving smooth and quick response. The phone comes with an 8 mega pixel auto focus camera. The pictures are clear and crisp and take pretty snaps even in low light conditions. Connectivity features include 3G, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth. Talk time is estimated up to 13 hours and standby time is up to 335 hours.
Nokia Lumia 800 specs at a glance:
-          1.4 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S2 processor
-          3.7’ Amoled ClearBlack curved display (800×480)
-          Windows Phone 7.5 Mango
-          8 megapixels rear camera (720p HD video)
-          16GB built-in memory storage
-          FM Radio
-          Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS
-          TV Ouput
It seems that initial impressions of the device have proved to be rather positive, letting it fall under the category of feeling better in real life than what it looks like on screenshots and online images. We will take a closer look at the Nokia Lumia 800 in the extended post.

Samsung Galaxy S II vs Apple iPhone 4

Posted on 04:24 by Unknown

Compare Samsung Galaxy S2 vs iPhone 4
in head-to-head on the basis of specifications. It's not fair when compared to the smartphone, which was launched last year, but hopefully it can be a comparison.
The following specification comparison between Samsung Galaxy S2 vs iPhone 4:

Physical Dimensions / Form Factor :
• Galaxy S2: 125.3 x 66.1 x 8.49mm, 117g
• iPhone 4: 115.2 x 58.7 x 9.3mm, 137g

Screen size and quality :
• Galaxy S2: 4:27-inch, 800x480px, Super Plus AMOLED
• iPhone 4: 3.5-inch, 960x640px, LCD with IPS

Processors :
• Galaxy S2: 1GHz dual-core, 1GB RAM
• iPhone 4: Apple A4, 512MB

Camera :
• Galaxy S2: 8MP rear, front 2MP, 1080p video capture
• iPhone 4: 5MP rear, front VGA, 720p video capture

Memory / Storage Data :
• Galaxy S2: 16/32GB + microSD
• iPhone 4: 16/32GB

Battery Life :
• Galaxy S2: 1650mAh
• iPhone 4: 1420mAh, Up to 10 hours backup for video

Connectivity :
• Galaxy S2: Wi-Fi, NFC, 4G, BT 3.0, DLNA, Wi-Fi tethering
• iPhone 4: Wi-Fi, BT 2.1, 3G

Software / OS :
• Galaxy S2: Android 2.3 Gingerbread
• iPhone 4: IOS 4.2

Price
• Galaxy S2: Cheaper than the iPhone 4
• iPhone 4: More expensive than the average of other smartphones

Conclusion :

It is clear that the iPhone 4 has a lot to have a rival now, one of which Samsung Galaxy S2. Samsung Galaxy S2 faster, thinner, and more power to take pictures and videos and have a wide screen.

But whether Apple could be considered
lose? Not really because Apple is preparing the launch of the iPhone5 for this year.
